Strangulation

Strangulation is the constriction of the arteries and airway in the neck which will cause unconsciousness and death due to a lack of oxygen to the lungs and an inadequate supply of blood to the brain.
Strangulation may also be caused by hanging, which can result in a broken neck. Exercise extreme caution if strangulation is the result of hanging.
